District Department of Transportation (DDOT)

McAndrew has served as the marketing communications consultant for the DDOT for the past 13 years. In this capacity, we aid the DDOT in informing and educating the public about the District’s traffic laws regarding seat belts, distracted driving, speeding, impaired driving and pedestrian safety. We have also provided creative services and support for their Parking and Ground Transportation Division.

• Strategic planning and creative services.

• Logo and brand identities for a variety of programs including DDOT’s Highway Safety Office, Click It or Ticket, DC Road Rules and ParkDC.

• Marketing materials for DDOT’s traffic safety initiatives and parking programs.

• Development and implementation of a comprehensive annual strategic marketing plan that includes public education and outreach efforts for both their Highway Safety Office’s traffic safety campaigns and their Curbside Management/Parking Services Division.

• Development and implementation of multiple annual public education/awareness campaigns educating the public about DDOT’s traffic safety initiatives (Click It or Ticket, impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding, pedestrian and bicycle safety).

• Event planning for various programs including press events, awards luncheons, symposiums, conferences and more.

• Public relations support in relation to traffic safety campaigns including writing press releases, media advisories and talking points and scheduling opportunities for the Metropolitan Police Department to participate in radio interviews.

• Management of DC Road Rules and ParkDC social media pages including content development, posting, and monitoring activity.

• Website development and management for dcroadrules.com and parkdc.com.

• Development and implementation of multiple public education campaigns for the parking and ground transportation including DC’s red top parking meters for persons with disabilities, Pick Up and Drop Off Zones (PUDO) and DC’s performance parking zone initiative.
